DAN WERTHMAN

I'm Dan Werthman, and I teach one of PEP's Starting Points classes at the Jacksonville campus at Eastside Community Church. I love the Starting Points curriculum because I am passionate about teaching students to think critically with a Christian worldview.
My wife Cindy and I have been married for 26 years and we have three great sons. Two of our sons have had the privilege of attending PEP and we've seen a remarkable advance in both their academic performance and their integration of their Christian faith with what what they've learned. We believe PEP has prepared them both to achieve the academic success we knew they were capable of and to live their Christian faith wherever the Lord leads them in life. I desire the same for my students! In addition to being a PEP Tutor, I serve as the Pastor of Eastside Community Church. I've been in pastoral ministry for over 15 years and been ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of America. I've studied social sciences at Colorado State University (B.A., 1983), theology and pastoral ministry at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.Div., 1988), and law at Hamline University School of Law (J.D., 1993). I have served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force and am licensed to practice law in Minnesota. If it sounds like an unusual career path, it is! But I believe God has sovereignly directed it and that He uses all these different elements to uniquely equip me to teach your students to 'think Christianly' and love the Lord God with all their minds! |
